People have told us we need to either change the sand or the filter should be cleaned. Is there a product that you add to do this. How often should you clean a sand filter. We have an inground pool and this is the 3rd year in use. Any advice? Thank you:)

Treating a kiddie pool?

Is it feasible to treat a 'kiddie pool' with chemicals? It is an inflatable, vinyl rectangular pool that holds 311 gallons, with no filter. It is too large to dump frequently, but if left to stand, it develops a film on the bottom and sides, and hard water deposits on the vinyl.

Since there is not a filter, will build-up of chemicals/whatever be a problem?

The water hardness is 320 ppm, and the total alkalinity is 210. pH is 7.2 Haven't tested anything else.

Suggestions?

jmbov
